Facial Implants

Overview:

Facial implants are designed to enhance the shape and size of the cheeks, chin and/or jawline. This procedure is ideal for individuals who desire a stronger and more defined facial contours, or who have facial asymmetry due to a congenital condition or traumatic injury.

Treatment:

Miss Berridge typically uses custom-made alloplastic implants that are positioned onto the cheeks, chin or jawline through an incision inside the mouth, therefore are no external facial scars. She offers a range of implant shapes and sizes to suit each patient’s unique needs and preferences. The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately one to two hours to complete.

Recovery:

After surgery, patients may experience some swelling, discomfort, and bruising in the treated area. These side effects can be managed with pain medication and cold compresses, and typically resolve within a week or two. There is also a small risk of infection, the risk of which is minimised with the administration of antibiotics during and after surgery.

Patients will need to follow a specific aftercare routine, including keeping the head elevated and avoiding strenuous activities for several weeks to allow for complete healing. Detailed aftercare instructions are provided to ensure a smooth recovery and successful outcome.
